Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a Brentwood Academy graduate, was named to his first NFL Pro Bowl when rosters were announced Tuesday night.
Ramsey, the fifth overall pick out of Florida State in the 2016 draft, has four interceptions and leads his team with 17 pass breakups this season.
He will be joined by three Jaguars teammates, including cornerback A.J. Bouye, defensive end Calais Campbell and defensive tackle Malik Jackson.
Ramsey, Bouye and Campbell were named starters.
The Pro Bowl is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. CT on Jan. 28, the Sunday before the Super Bowl, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
Fans, players and coaches each counted for a third of the Pro Bowl vote.
Four defensive players will represent the Jaguars during the 2018 NFL Pro Bowl in Orlando on January 28.
The league announced the Pro Bowl rosters Tuesday night.
Cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, defensive end Calais Campbell and defensive tackle Malik Jackson were selected to take part in the annual all-star showcase based on the collective voting of NFL fans, coaches and players.
The four total selections for the Jaguars are the most for the franchise since 1999. Jacksonville didn’t have a representative last season.
Ramsey, Bouye and Jackson are all first-time selections. Campbell had previously been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015.
The NFL has moved back to the conference format for the Pro Bowl, so the Jaguars’ representatives will play for the AFC team.
Jalen Ramsey, CB, First Selection
Last year’s fifth overall pick has played at a very high level in his second season. Ramsey has produced four interceptions, doubling his rookie total. He is also a co-leader for the Jaguars with 17 pass breakups through 14 games.
Ramsey has shut down the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Larry Fitzgerald this season. He has emerged as one of best young defensive players in the league.
A.J. Bouye, CB, First Selection
Bouye was signed to a massive contract this offseason and has somehow been able to exceed expectations opposite Ramsey. Bouye has produced a career-high six interceptions and 17 pass breakups.
The veteran cornerback has been shutting down his side of the field all season. He has forced opposing quarterbacks to pick their poison between Bouye and Ramsey.
Calais Campbell, DE, Third Selection
The Jaguars’ defensive line has taken a massive step forward with the addition of Campbell. The big free agent signee has already set a new franchise single-season record with 14.5 sacks through 14 games.
As a veteran leader, Campbell has been credited with changing the culture of the Jaguars’ locker room. He produced four sacks during his Jaguars debut in Week 1.
Malik Jackson, DT, First Selection
The former Denver Broncos defensive tackle earned his first Pro Bowl selection in his second season with the Jaguars. He has produced a career-high eight sacks through 14 games this season.
Jackson was one of the few “big name” players added to the franchise prior to this season. The Pro Bowl has always been a major goal for the veteran lineman.
The Pro Bowl will take place on Sunday, January 28 at 3 p.m. EST at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. You can watch the Pro Bowl live on ABC 25.
